NABSTMC MONTGOMERY AL SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
SCHOLARSHIP ANNOUNCEMENT
The National Association of Buffalo Soldiers & Troopers Motorcycle Club – Montgomery, Alabama Scholarship Award will allow a deserving youth in Montgomery, Alabama and surrounding counties to receive much needed funding to assist in their college education in addition to that which is provided by the Southeast Frontier and the National Association of Buffalo Soldiers and Troopers Motorcycle Club. The scholarship awards a total of $1,000.00 to a graduating senior that attends high school in Montgomery, Alabama and surrounding counties. If selected, the scholarship may be used at any accredited Higher Educational Institution that the recipient will attend (funds will be distributed to the institution). Timely submission of required documentation and completed application must be received electronically/by email to the NABSTMC Montgomery, Alabama Chapter Scholarship Selection Committee by (Deadline: April 25, 2019 at 11:59 pm). SELECTION CRITERION
A Student will be selected for the NABSTMC Montgomery, Alabama Chapter Scholarship based on the following criterion submitted from the NABSTMC Montgomery, Alabama Chapter Scholarship Selection Committee as follows: 1) Graduating Senior 2) Attending a high school in Montgomery, Alabama or the surrounding counties 3) Academic achievement: minimum 2.5 GPA (packet must include two (2) official school transcripts) 4) Prepare a letter of introduction; who you are and your family, your accomplishments to date, your participation in community service, the degree to which you are seeking, and financial need. Provide a brief summary on how you plan to use the scholarship if selected. 5) Letter of Acceptance to an accredited institution of higher education 6) Provide a brief summary of how you, the student, plans to use the scholarship funding, if selected. Include the complete name and address of the school you will be attending. Checks will be mailed to the school via the student’s account. 7) What are your career aspirations upon graduation from college? 8) Typed Essay

AWARD CONFIRMATION
The Scholarship Committee will choose the scholarship recipient from the pool of NABSTMC Montgomery, Alabama Chapter applicants. The NABSTMC Montgomery, Alabama Chapter Scholarship recipient and school officials will be notified via certified letter as soon as practical, following selection of the recipient. The NABSTMC Montgomery, Alabama Chapter President or designee will recognize the recipient at an appropriate school sponsored function – to be jointly determined by the school’s point of contact and the Scholarship Committee. The Counselor is to be used as the school’s point of contact for validating the entry and arranging the opportunity to recognize the student. Scholarship awards will be mailed, via certified letter, directly to the institution attended by the recipient at the start of the current fall semester school
There will be only one winner of the NABSTMC Montgomery, Alabama Scholarship Award. The NABSTMC Montgomery, Alabama Chapter winner will be advanced to the SE Frontier Scholarship Award Committee to compete for the Southeast Frontier Scholarship Award.
